<I’m working with this concept for how my world’s reality is constructed and how magic, consciousness, and related things work in my world. What do you think? Can you make it a little more coherent?>

Every known plane, demiplane, or subplane is composed of an existential force, modified by some kind of law or set of laws that bind it into form and substance, and determine how that substance interacts with other laws and their derivative substances. This existential force and the laws that bind it govern all of reality. It was known in the time before the Rending that this existential force existed beyond the Astral Plane and encompassed it, in a region called the Infinite Source. No party that attempted to reach the Infinite Source succeeded and returned.

Within each plane there exist subplanes with specific planar coordinates. All subplanes are defined by a center location and/or boundaries. Any plane that contains and unbounded subplane is filled completely (that is, a traveler attempting to access the plane will always reach an unbounded subplane), though the size of the plane within its parent plane does not limit the internal size of the subplane. A constant law of the Astral Plane states that no plane has an external size is greater than the internal size of its parent plane itself. Subplanes are also typically smaller than their parent plane in at least one internal dimension. All subplanes are governed by the laws of their parent plane, as well as their own peculiar laws, except where specific laws of the subplane overrule the laws of the parent plane.

Objects composed of the substance of one plane can be transferred to another, where they effectively become subplanes of the new plane with laws equivalent to those of their plane of origin. This new subplane has boundaries, but no center, so it can be moved by interaction with another subplane or with the substance of the new parent plane.

The body of a non-elemental creature is the part of its plane of origin that it is composed of. In all creatures, it is described by the Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution ability scores.

The soul of a creature is the allocation of essential force from the Infinite Source that it controls. This allocation is finite at a given time, but continually resupplied from elsewhere in the Infinite Source.

The mind of a creature is the set of laws governing the interaction of the existential force that animates it and the body that contains it. Essentially, the mind is a subplane of the creature’s parent plane with almost no internal or external dimension. The strength of the connection between the creature’s mind and its body is described by the Wisdom ability score. The strength and speed of the connection between the creature’s mind and the Infinite Source is described by the Charisma ability score. The power of the laws that compose the mind is described by the Intelligence ability score.

Well, this is… interesting. All creatures are essentially planes in and of themselves? I don’t believe I’ve heard that one before.

Do you want me to explain how Planar Dynamics et al work in my campaign world(s)? Because I can do that. I can definently do that…
